Comments on the EPA’s Role in Sustainable Products
On September 16, 2010, the Environmental Protection Agency published a notice in the Federal Register requesting input on the Agency’s role in the “green” or sustainable products movement. Under Section 13103(b) of the Pollution Prevention Act of 1990 the Administrator of EPA is required to “facilitate the adoption of source reduction techniques by businesses and to identify opportunities to use Federal procurement to encourage source reduction.” It is in this context the EPA requested assistance in defining its role.
