Georgia Senators Cosponsor S.2143

For Immediate Release—

Members of the Paper Recycling Coalition (PRC) are gratified that Senators Chambliss and Isakson (R-GA) have joined their colleagues to cosponsor S. 2143 introduced by Senator Debbie Stabenow (D-MI). The Senators clearly understand the importance of paper recycling in their state and across the United States.

Georgia is one of the PRC’s most important states with 34 facilities and over 3,500 direct jobs.

“Senators Chambliss and Isakson clearly recognize the environmental and economic importance of both virgin and recovered fiber to the state of Georgia. I applaud them for supporting S.2143”.

–David Scheible, President and Chief Executive Officer of Graphic Packaging International based in Marietta, Georgia.

“On behalf of RockTenn, I would like to thank our Georgia Senators for cosponsoring S. 2143 to ensure that the government does not subsidize the burning of recyclable paper on which our industry is reliant upon for the raw material for our products”.

–Mike Kiepura, President of Consumer Packaging at RockTenn based in Norcross, Georgia.
