Sen. Boozman Tours Ft. Smith Carton Plant
June 27, 2013
For Immediate Release:
Senator Boozman visited Graphic Packaging International’s consumer packaging facility in Ft. Smith to see firsthand how recycled paper is converted into new cartons. Graphic Packaging has operated in Arkansas for over 55 years and prides themselves on their work in the state. Boozman thanked the employees for their hard work and efforts to provide a quality product in the marketplace which also has many admirable environmental benefits. GPI’s Fort Smith operations include two manufacturing operations: one facility manufacturing folding cartons for food and beverage segments and a satellite operation that supports the larger Fort Smith facility and manufactures an innovative package designed for club store packaging and as a replacement for corrugated boxes.
Senator Boozman has been instrumental in helping the industry to flourish and grow jobs by cosponsoring S.2143 which protects recycled fiber from destruction by burning.
